皇居：The Imperial Palace
皇居は”Tenno”の宮殿です。
英語ではThe Imperial Palaceと訳します。
"Tennō" は"Emperor of Japan"です。
The status of Emperor means that he symbolizes people in Japan.
天皇は、日本国の象徴たる地位のお方です。
The Imperial Palace is located at the place where Edo castle were. In Edo period, Tokugawa shogunate governed the country from the castle.
皇居は、もともとは徳川幕府の居城。江戸城があった所です。
Size of the Imperial Palace is 1,150,000 square meters.
皇居の広さは、総面積115万平方メートルです。
1,150,000 ( one million one hundred fifty thousand )
Which means, it is 25 times as big as Tokyo dome,
その広さは東京ドーム球場の約２５個分に相当します。
or３times as big as the Tokyo Disney Land.
また、東京ディズニーランドの約３倍の広さに相当します。
It’s surrounded by a moat and has 8 gates.
周りをお堀で囲み、その回りには８つの門があります。
